Quảng Ngãi Province launches $2.4 bn tender for two new urban districts

The Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Council, Đỗ Tâm Hiển, signed decisions approving the invitation of bids for two new urban‑area projects in the Dong Nam Dung Quất region. The combined area of the two districts is about 2,700 ha and the total planned investment is close to VND 55 trillion (≈ US$2.4 bn).

The southern district will cover 1,377 ha, target a population of roughly 68,700, include 935 villas and townhouses, an 18‑hole golf course, and require more than VND 23.7 trillion in capital. The northern district will span 1,320 ha, aim for about 85,900 residents, contain 1,668 villas and townhouses, also feature an 18‑hole golf course, and need over VND 23.6 trillion.

Both projects set aside land for social‑housing and are scheduled for completion by the end of 2037. They are intended to stimulate infrastructure growth for the Dung Quất Economic Zone, Vietnam’s first coastal‑industrial hub focused on heavy industry, oil‑refining and steelmaking. The provincial plan was approved in January 2025, and the Prime Minister endorsed the investment policy in June 2025 as part of a broader strategy to transform Quảng Ngãi into a modern industrial province.
