Quảng Ngãi recovers two sets of martyr remains

Search and recovery forces in Quảng Ngãi province have discovered and recovered two sets of martyr remains along with various related artifacts.

On August 20, one set of remains was found in a coffee plantation in Đăk Tơ Kan commune after authorities excavated approximately 54 cubic meters of soil using mine detectors and manual tools.

In a separate operation in Trà Câu ward, authorities discovered a second set of remains in a cajeput garden near Phổ An Secondary School. Recovered items included buttons, shoe buckles, and decomposing teeth. This discovery is believed to be linked to martyr Nguyễn Đình Nữ, who died during the resistance war against the United States in 1966. Local witnesses and family members had previously attempted to locate the site, but changes in terrain and soil over the decades had obscured the original burial location. To date, 16 sets of martyr remains have been recovered in Quảng Ngãi.
