Quảng Ninh launches 800 trillion VND education plan for 2026‑27 school year

The provincial government of Quảng Ninh will allocate nearly 800 trillion Vietnamese dong for the 2026‑27 academic year to support more than 539,000 students and teachers. The package includes free textbooks for all regular‑school students, free milk for about 197,300 preschool and primary pupils, and free school meals for disadvantaged groups. Lunch subsidies and transport assistance target children in ethnic‑minority, mountainous and island communities, with around 36,900 receiving meal allowances and 8,100 receiving daily transport or boarding support.

Additional measures aim to improve school infrastructure and incentives: a pilot program will test electric buses for student transport, schools will install rooftop solar panels and air‑conditioning, and scholarships and cash prizes of up to 700 million VND (1.05 billion VND for top ethnic‑minority winners) will reward students who win international competitions. Teachers involved in elite training receive a 50 % bonus of the student prize. The plan also covers insurance costs for staff at private early‑childhood centres and offers tuition subsidies for vulnerable high‑schoolers in private schools.
