Quảng Ninh province begins 2.6‑trillion‑dong coastal road construction

On 14 July, the Quảng Ninh provincial project management board announced the start of construction on the second phase of a coastal belt road linking Bãi Cháy Bridge, Bình Minh Bridge and Bang Bridge. The 7‑km, six‑lane highway will cost about 2.618 trillion Vietnamese dong and cover more than 262,000 m² of land. It includes two new intersections, a 380‑metre bridge, widened over‑passes, lighting, drainage and pedestrian sidewalks.

The road runs along Cửa Lục Bay, passing several waterfront urban districts, and is planned in three stages, with phase 1 slated for completion by August 2027. Officials say the project will raise the value of the Cửa Lục area, attract investment and support the province’s ambition to turn the bay into an international‑tourism hub comparable to Sydney Bay, complementing broader plans for modern marinas, eco‑friendly urban development and pollution‑free zones.
