Quảng Trị hosts 2026 Peace Festival opening ceremony

The 2026 Peace Festival (Lễ hội Vì hòa bình) opened on 4 July at the historic Đôi bờ Hiền Lương‑Bến Hải site in Quảng Trị Province, Vietnam. The ceremony was directed by Đặng Lê Minh Trí, who emphasized a narrative that moves from wartime memory to a hopeful future.

A star‑studded artistic program featured NSND Lan Hương performing together for the first time with singers Tùng Dương, Võ Hạ Trâm, Hoàng Bách and others, alongside pianist Bùi Đăng Khánh, young vocalists and MCs Hữu Bằng and Hồng Nhung. The stage design was inspired by a dove with open wings, symbolising hope, connection and peace.

Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Quảng Trị Provincial People’s Committee, the festival runs from March to December 2026 and aims to spread messages of peace, reconciliation and sustainable development, linking the region’s war‑scarred past with aspirations for the future.
