Quorn Park Solar Hybrid completes integration in Australia

Potentia Energy has completed the Quorn Park Solar Hybrid near Parkes, Australia. The facility is the first large-scale solar-battery hybrid on the country’s main grid to feature a single point of connection for both systems.

The project combines a 98 MW solar farm with a 20 MW / 40 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Unlike previous installations where solar and battery components had separate grid connections, this integrated design allows the plant to operate as a single unit. This configuration provides greater flexibility in dispatching energy, enabling the operator to choose between charging the battery or exporting solar generation directly to the grid based on demand.
