R. Power completes 55 MWp solar project in Romania
Renewable energy producer R. Power has completed the construction of the Lazuri photovoltaic project in Satu Mare County, Romania. The 55 MWp facility features 88,708 modules and six medium-voltage stations.
Once operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 70 GWh annually, which is sufficient to power more than 44,000 households. The project has been awarded a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD) by Romanian authorities to ensure long-term revenue stability. Energization is scheduled to take place by the end of 2026.
The project was funded through a €44 million financing facility established in June 2026 via a club deal between ING Bank NV and UniCredit Bank SA. This facility covers a portfolio of four photovoltaic projects in Romania with a total capacity of roughly 75 MWp. The Lazuri site is part of R. Power’s broader 1.5 GW pipeline of solar, hybrid, and energy storage projects in the country, aimed at supporting Romania’s decarbonization and energy independence goals.
