Balkan infrastructure: Major road and energy projects underway
Various infrastructure and public works projects are underway across the Balkan region. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elektroprenos BiH has opened the Sarajevo 12 transformer station, a 10.5 million KM investment designed to increase power supply reliability and security in the Grbavica and Novo Sarajevo areas. Additionally, in Zvornik, contracts have been signed for the reconstruction of the Basic Court building and the construction of a new kindergarten in Branjevo.
Road maintenance and construction are prominent in several areas. In Serbia, the reconstruction of the old Ibar Bridge in Kraljevo has been contracted for approximately 222 million dinars, with work expected to conclude next summer. In Montenegro, road closures and traffic diversions are in effect due to bridge reconstructions and road repairs in locations such as Đurđevića Tara and various regional routes. In Podgorica, the public enterprise Putevi is managing multiple road rehabilitation sites.
In Slovenia, the Municipality of Razkrižje has launched a nearly 5 million EUR project to upgrade border roads following arbitration rulings. Other regional updates include energy efficiency upgrades for the Draganić municipal building in Croatia and various local road and public transport adjustments in Serbia and Montenegro.
