Rabies vaccination campaigns underway in Brazilian municipalities

Municipalities in Brazil are conducting rabies vaccination campaigns for dogs and cats to prevent the transmission of the virus to humans and other mammals.

In Três Lagoas, the Municipal Health Secretariat and the Zoonosis Control Center have established 19 vaccination points across the city. The campaign offers free doses to pet owners to increase animal protection and public health safety.

In Sorriso, authorities have already immunized 16,774 animals, reaching nearly 73% of the target set by the Ministry of Health. The city aims to vaccinate 23,000 pets by the end of the mobilization period. Residents can access free vaccinations at a fixed point at the Environmental Surveillance headquarters or request home visits for large or difficult-to-transport animals.
