Nigeria 2027: APC criticizes Kwankwaso as Sowore pledges ₦500,000 wage
Political tensions are rising in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for his proposal to Atiku Abubakar. Kwankwaso, running alongside Peter Obi, urged the former Vice-President to withdraw from the race due to age and health, promising that the opposition would ‘take care of him’ if they win.
APC spokesperson Felix Morka condemned the remarks as ‘horse trading’ and accused the opposition of hypocrisy, questioning why they are negotiating for an office they have not yet won. Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar has maintained his intention to contest the 2027 election, noting it would be his final attempt.
In a separate development, Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has outlined a revolutionary economic agenda. Sowore has pledged to implement a ₦500,000 monthly minimum wage, provide 24-hour electricity, ensure free education at all levels, and construct one million public mixed-income homes. He also proposed reforming tenancy laws to prevent large advance rent payments.
