Racing Bulls denies any guaranteed 2027 F1 seat for F2 star Nikola Tsolov

Team principal Alan Permane told the media that rumours linking Bulgarian Red Bull Junior driver Nikola Tsolov to a secured 2027 Formula 1 race seat with Racing Bulls are unfounded. He said the team has not discussed the matter and that there are no decisions pending, reaffirming his satisfaction with the current driver line‑up, particularly New Zealand‑born Liam Lawson, whose performances he praised throughout the season.

Tsolov, who is second in the Formula 2 championship in his rookie year and has already claimed victories in Melbourne, Monaco and the recent Austrian feature race, remains under observation but does not yet hold a super licence. Consequently, Racing Bulls fielded Ayumu Iwasa in recent Friday‑practice sessions while Tsolov competed with his F2 team, Campos Racing.

The comments come as part of the usual “silly‑season” speculation surrounding driver contracts, with other teams also addressing similar rumours about their own line‑ups.
