Radboud University bans GNSV student association

Radboud University has announced that the Groot-Nederlandse Studenten Vereniging (GNSV) will no longer be permitted to participate in its introduction market. The decision follows warnings from the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV).

In a report titled ‘Achter de façade’, security services identified the GNSV as a right-wing extremist organization. While the group presents itself publicly as a ‘national-conservative’ student association, the report states that members hold deep-seated racist views regarding Dutch identity and advocate for the ‘remigration’ of people with migration backgrounds. The NCTV warned that the group uses moderate cultural rhetoric to normalize its ideology and recruit members on university campuses.

The university stated it no longer wishes to facilitate or receive the group, citing concerns over safety and the potential for counter-demonstrations. Previous incidents involving the group include the arrest of a member for weapons possession and investigations into the preparation of a terrorist attack.
