Right-wing student groups in Benelux

Security services in the Netherlands have identified the Groot-Nederlandse Studentenvereniging (GNSV) as a right-wing extremist organization. In a report titled ‘Achter de façade’, the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) and the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) warned that the group uses a moderate facade to normalize extremist ideologies. The report notes that the GNSV promotes the concept of a single ‘white’ people across the Netherlands and Flanders and advocates for the ‘remigration’ of individuals with non-Western backgrounds.

Following these warnings, Radboud University announced it would ban the GNSV from participating in its introduction market, citing safety concerns and the potential for counter-demonstrations. The university noted previous incidents involving the group, including investigations into the preparation of a terrorist attack and the arrest of a member for weapons possession.

In a related development in Belgium, the nationalist student association NSV! regained official recognition at Ghent University after its status was previously revoked. The organization stated it intends to expand its campus presence through lectures and debates, emphasizing a commitment to academic diversity.
