Raderlebnistag Niederrhein bike festival attracts thousands in Germany

On Sunday, 5 July 2026, the third Raderlebnistag Niederrhein – a large community bike festival – will take place across several towns in North Rhine‑Westphalia, including Geilenkirchen and Willich. Organisers expect thousands of cyclists to follow themed routes, with digital GPX files and printable maps provided.

The event combines recreation with charity; participants can donate to the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” fund. Mayor Armin Leon of Geilenkirchen said, “Der Raderlebnistag steht für Bewegung, Gemeinschaft und Lebensfreude. Dass wir in diesem Jahr gleichzeitig etwas Gutes für Kinder tun können, macht die Veranstaltung noch wertvoller.” The tourism board highlights the digital registration for prize draws and the inclusion of local attractions along the routes, as noted by Niederrhein Tourismus CEO Martina Baumgärtner.

Overall, the day offers families, leisure riders and sport‑oriented cyclists a chance to explore the Niederrhein landscape, enjoy local amenities and contribute to a charitable cause.
