Radio calisthenics summer tour holds live NHK broadcasts in Japan

The ‘Summer Touring Radio Calisthenics • Everyone’s Exercise Meeting’ is traveling across Japan, featuring live broadcasts on NHK radio. The event is organized by Kampo Life Insurance, NHK, and the National Radio Calisthenics Federation.

In Uji, Kyoto, approximately 500 citizens gathered at Kyoto Bunkyo University on August 21 to participate in the exercises, which were broadcast nationwide. The event marked the first time the tour visited the city in 13 years. Participants performed Radio Calisthenics No. 1, No. 2, and ‘Everyone’s Exercise’ under the guidance of instructor Mika Okamoto.

In Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, the tour is scheduled to take place at the Asai Fureai Ground on August 26. This marks the first time the event has been held in Nagahama in 18 years. Organizers are aiming for 1,000 participants, including children and the elderly, for the live broadcast. The session is free to attend and includes commemorative gifts for participants.
