Japan Summer Touring Radio Exercise events

Overview

The ‘Summer Touring Radio Exercise – Everyone’s Exercise Meeting’ is a nationwide event in Japan organized by the National Radio Exercise Federation, NHK, and Kanpo Life Insurance. The tour features live NHK radio broadcasts and aims to promote health and community interaction.

In early August, events were held in Konomi Town, Mie Prefecture, to mark the town’s 70th anniversary, and in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, to celebrate the city’s 60th anniversary of municipal status. Approximately 900 residents participated in the Iwaki event.

Later in August, the tour continued with a session in Uji, Kyoto, at Kyoto Bunkyo University, which drew about 500 citizens and marked the tour’s first visit to the city in 13 years. An upcoming session in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, aims to attract 1,000 participants, marking the event’s first appearance in the area in 18 years.
