Radio Granma wins top prizes at XLV Provincial Radio Festival

The XLV Provincial Radio Festival in Granma, Cuba, concluded with an awards ceremony held at the Plaza de la Patria in Bayamo. Radio Granma achieved significant success, securing the Grand Prize with the informative magazine ‘Radar MIL 590’, followed by first and second place honors for the programs ‘La música, siempre la música’ and ‘Siempre original’.

Other notable winners included Radio Portada de la Libertad, which took third place for its public interest communication message ‘No a las drogas’. Radio Bayamo received recognition for the testimonial series ‘Yo conocí a Fidel’ in the category dedicated to the centenary of the Commander in Chief, as well as for the program ‘El arte de vivir’, which was honored for its reflection of government policies and programs.

Prior to the awards, the festival hosted theoretical sessions focused on the challenges of radio propaganda, the role of radio in preserving historical memory, and the appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence in broadcasting. The jury for the competition was led by Cuban radio artist Julio César Vega Calás.
