Radio România celebrates 98 years with National Radio Orchestra concert

Radio România will celebrate its 98th anniversary with a concert by the National Radio Orchestra at Sala Radio on Friday, October 30, 2026. The institution traces its origins to the first broadcast by the Radiotelefonic Diffusion Society on November 1, 1928.

The anniversary event features conductor Radu Paponiu, the musical director of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, and pianist Cadmiel Boțac, the 2024 winner of the Bösendorfer Competition in Vienna. The program includes Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Theodor Rogalski’s Three Romanian Dances, and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

The concert will be broadcast live on Radio România Cultural and Radio România Muzical, with online streaming available via the Radio România website and mobile application.
