European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that the EU will release an additional €3.3 billion to Ukraine for the procurement of missiles and drones. This new disbursement is part of a larger support package, with the EU having mobilized nearly €15 billion for Ukraine so far this year.

Von der Leyen also proposed utilizing remaining resources from the SAFE program to launch new joint EU-Ukraine defense projects. These initiatives aim to combine Ukrainian battlefield innovation with European industrial strength, including the development of a joint European air and anti-missile defense system based on the Freya system.

In a separate development, the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has approved an $8 billion investment package for allied nations, which includes projects in Ukraine. These investments focus on energy storage for DTEK and the modernization of telecommunications infrastructure for Vodafone Ukraine to ensure connectivity during the conflict.

Meanwhile, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski emphasized that Poland must be involved in future peace negotiations due to its strategic geographic position and role as a logistics hub. Sikorski reaffirmed Poland's support for Ukraine's NATO membership and stated that Poland will not block Ukraine's EU accession negotiations, though he noted that agricultural integration remains a complex and difficult topic for member states.
