International support for Ukraine continues to expand. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the release of €3.3 billion for the procurement of missiles and drones, bringing the EU’s total mobilized support this year to nearly €15 billion. Von der Leyen also proposed using remaining SAFE program resources to launch joint EU-Ukraine defense projects, such as a joint air and anti-missile defense system based on the Freya system. Additionally, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation has approved an $8 billion investment package for allied nations, including funding for energy storage and telecommunications infrastructure in Ukraine.
