Rafa Nadal expands business with new wine brand and Bahrain tennis center
Former tennis champion Rafa Nadal is expanding his business portfolio through two major ventures: the launch of a premium wine brand and the international expansion of his tennis academy.
In collaboration with Viñas Familia Gil, Nadal has introduced ‘El Tenista’, an organic red wine produced in Jumilla, Spain. The project, part of the Dominio del Liftado initiative, utilizes recovered Monastrell vines aged over 50 years. The wine is produced in limited quantities through hand-harvesting and is aged for approximately 18 months in new French oak barrels.
Simultaneously, the Rafa Nadal Academy is growing its presence in the Middle East. A new facility, the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center Bahrain, is scheduled to open in the Amwaj Islands by the final quarter of 2027. Developed in partnership with Harve, the center will feature six tennis courts (both indoor and outdoor), three padel courts, physical preparation and recovery areas, a sports shop, and a cafeteria. This marks the academy's ninth international location.
