Ragusa and Lugoj announce new pest control cycles

Municipalities in Ragusa and Lugoj have announced the commencement of their third cycles of pest control and disinfestation campaigns to manage flying insects and mosquitoes.

In Ragusa, treatments are scheduled to take place during nighttime hours starting at 1:00 AM to minimize disruption for residents and tourists. The schedule includes Ragusa Ibla and San Giacomo on August 18, the coastal area of Marina di Ragusa on August 19, and the urban area of Ragusa Superiore on August 20. Residents are advised to keep windows closed, remove food and water from balconies, and protect pets.

In Lugoj, the campaign begins on August 11 at 9:00 PM, targeting areas with stagnant water and the localities of Tapia and Măguri. On August 12, operations will focus on dense vegetation, parks, and the Timiș riverbanks. The final phase is set for August 13 in the Lugoj German neighborhoods. Local authorities are using Ministry of Health-approved insecticides and have requested that beekeepers take precautions to protect bee colonies.
