Rahul Gandhi targets student issues amid BJP criticism

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is increasingly focusing on student-related issues and democratic rights as part of a broader political strategy ahead of upcoming assembly elections. This includes highlighting alleged police action against students protesting at Jantar Mantar to position the Congress party as a defender of democratic rights.

BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia has criticized this approach, accusing Gandhi and the Congress party of using student grievances for political gain. Chandolia noted that while student demands should be addressed, the opposition is politicizing these issues for electoral advantage. He also raised concerns regarding the party's stance on 'Vande Mataram' and addressed government measures regarding rising sugar prices.

The Congress party is simultaneously working to strengthen opposition alliances to challenge the NDA in future elections, seeking to overcome recent electoral setbacks and build public sentiment against the current government through emotional and youth-centric issues.
