Rahul Gandhi’s Indore event faces venue permission delays
The Indian National Congress is facing administrative hurdles in securing a venue for Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ program, scheduled for September 19 in Indore. After permission was denied for the Nehru Stadium, a Congress delegation led by Indore City President Chintu Chokse met with Collector Shivam Verma to propose alternative locations.
The party has suggested three alternative sites: the Indore Development Authority (IDA) ground located in front of Regional Park, the Devi Ahilya University campus ground, and a field near the Government Arts and Commerce College. Congress leaders have accused the administration of acting under pressure from the ruling party.
Despite the lack of official venue approval, Congress claims that preparations are proceeding, with student registrations reportedly exceeding 75,000. The party has submitted formal requests to both the IDA and the Municipal Corporation, pledging to adhere to all safety and administrative regulations.
