Rahul Gandhi's Indore visit sparks political dispute over stadium use

A political dispute has emerged in Indore regarding permission for a proposed event featuring Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party is seeking to reserve Nehru Stadium from September 8 to September 12 for a program titled ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, which is intended to address issues concerning students and youth.

Indore City Congress President Chintu Chokse has formally requested the Municipal Commissioner to reserve the stadium, warning that the party will launch protests if permission is denied. In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has cited a court order that prohibits political events from being held at Nehru Stadium, questioning the validity of the Congress party's request.

Preparations for the visit are underway, with Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee leader Jitu Patwari coordinating with party leaders. The Congress party is also assigning specific responsibilities to the Youth Congress and NSUI to manage the expected large turnout of students from Indore and surrounding districts.
