Emanuela Orlandi case: New testimonies challenge long-held theories

New developments have emerged in the 43-year-old disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, a Vatican citizen. Former policeman Bruno Bosco, one of the last witnesses to see Orlandi before her disappearance in 1983, has broken his silence to challenge the long-standing investigation. Bosco claims that the “Avon man”—a figure central to the case who allegedly offered Orlandi a job—never actually existed, stating that previous accounts of the event were “all invented.”

Additionally, Laura Casagrande, a former classmate of Orlandi at the Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra, is facing scrutiny. Casagrande, who is under investigation by the Rome Prosecutor's Office for providing false information to public prosecutors, has provided conflicting accounts regarding her proximity to Orlandi on the day of the disappearance. These new testimonies and perspectives are set to be featured in a special broadcast of the program “Filorosso” on Rai 3, featuring insights from legal counsel Laura Sgrò and Pietro Orlandi.
