Rai board to decide future of journalist Sigfrido Ranucci amid ethics scandal
Sigfrido Ranucci, editor of Rai 3’s investigative program Report, is at the centre of a controversy involving personal relationships, statements from his autobiography “La scelta”, and an audio recording in which he alleged the presence of mafia and Freemasonry within Rai. The controversy also raises doubts about the role of a figure named Corrado in the investigation of an attack on a journalist.
The Rai Board of Directors is scheduled to meet tomorrow at 10 a.m. to discuss the matter, although the agenda is not officially confirmed. An ethical committee report is expected within ten days and will be presented to senior management at Viale Mazzini, which will decide whether Ranucci remains in charge of Report or is removed. Senator Roberto Rosso of Forza Italia, a member of the parliamentary commission overseeing Rai, stressed the need for proper counter‑argument and transparent investigation of Ranucci’s ties.
