Rai Calabria hosts media training for Calabrian students

The ‘Rai Porte Aperte’ project recently concluded a two-day educational initiative at the Rai Calabria headquarters in Cosenza. The program brought together 80 students from eight different high schools across the Calabria region to provide direct exposure to the world of television and radio journalism.

Promoted by the Calabria Region’s Department of Education in collaboration with the Calabria Film Commission Foundation and Rai Com, the initiative aimed to bridge the gap between school and the professional media landscape. Students participated in activities including visits to television and radio studios, editing suites, and newsrooms. They also observed the news selection process and participated in editorial meetings for the regional news program (TGR).

Regional Minister for Education, Sport, and Youth Policies, Eulalia Micheli, participated in the event by appearing on live radio and television broadcasts to discuss the importance of connecting vocational orientation with the professional workforce. The project seeks to foster media literacy, critical awareness, and an understanding of the various technical and editorial roles required to produce public service information.
