Rai Calabria student media immersion project

Overview

The ‘Rai Porte Aperte’ project, a collaboration between the Calabria Region, the Calabria Film Commission, and Rai, hosted an educational immersion program at the Rai Calabria headquarters in Cosenza.

The initiative provided 80 students from eight regional high schools with hands-on experience in television and radio journalism. Participants toured studios and editing suites, observed news selection processes, and engaged in editorial meetings for the regional news program (TGR). Activities included simulating news anchoring and assisting in the production of programs in the Arbëreshë language.

Regional Minister for Education, Sport, and Youth Policies, Eulalia Micheli, emphasized the project’s role in connecting vocational orientation with the professional workforce and fostering media literacy among the new generation.
