Raiffeisen Bank completes acquisition of Garanti BBVA Romania Group

Raiffeisen Bank has finalized the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the Garanti BBVA Romania Group from subsidiaries of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A. (BBVA). The acquired group includes Garanti Bank S.A., the financial leasing company Motoractive IFN S.A. (operating under the Garanti BBVA Leasing brand), and the operational leasing company Motoractive Multiservices S.R.L. (operating under the Garanti BBVA Fleet Management brand).

Following the acquisition, the two entities will begin a process of legal merger, which is estimated to be completed in the second half of 2027. Until the merger is finalized, Raiffeisen Bank and Garanti BBVA will continue to operate as separate banks.

Bank officials stated that existing contractual terms remain unchanged and customers do not need to take any action at this stage. All active contracts, product packages, and services will continue without modification during the transition period.
