Raigad landslide closes lane on Mumbai‑Goa highway

A landslide on the Mumbai‑Goa National Highway in the Poladpur area of Raigad district, Maharashtra, forced the closure of the lane heading toward Mumbai on July 15. Police and administration teams arrived promptly, secured the site and ordered the affected lane to be closed while traffic was diverted to the opposite lane.

Debris removal operations are underway under the direction of the National Highway Authority, with officials urging drivers to exercise caution amid ongoing heavy rain. No injuries have been reported. Earlier, heavy rains also triggered a landslide near the historic Tandelwadi fort in Palghar district, prompting authorities to advise against visiting the site for several days.
