Rail Baltica contractors sue LTG Infra for over 360 million euros

Three contractors involved in the Rail Baltica project have filed four lawsuits against LTG Infra, a subsidiary of Lithuanian Railways, seeking claims exceeding 360 million euros. The legal actions primarily concern project segments where construction has stalled or failed to commence.

Specific claims include: - HISK is seeking to have one of its contracting agreements declared void from its inception. - Tilsta is demanding the recovery of a 753,000 euro debt and requesting that LTG Infra be compelled to approve work projects, including daily penalties for delays. - The Italian firm Rizzani de Eccher is challenging the legality of the client's decision to terminate a 100 million euro contract regarding a bridge over the Neris river in Jonava.

LTG Infra stated it is currently evaluating these claims and has not yet provided a detailed legal position. Rail Baltica is a major European railway infrastructure project intended to connect Warsaw, Kaunas, Vilnius, Panevėžys, Riga, Pernu, and Tallinn with an electrified double-track system.
