Rail services undergo adjustments in Morocco and Canada

Major rail and transit adjustments are underway in Morocco and Canada to accommodate infrastructure projects and seasonal demand.

In Morocco, the National Office of Railways has announced temporary modifications to train schedules due to the ongoing construction of a high-speed rail line between Kenitra and Marrakech. These changes, implemented in phases, include reduced routes for rapid shuttle trains, the suspension of certain services such as the airport shuttle and the Safi-Casablanca link, and the eventual closure of the Colleges and Nassim stations. A new transport plan is expected to launch on September 14, 2026, as construction accelerates.

In Canada, transit agencies are adjusting services for the back-to-school season. The TTC is increasing service on various streetcar, bus, and LRT routes to meet rising ridership, including adding new bus routes in Etobicoke. Meanwhile, GO Transit is implementing temporary service reductions on the Lakeshore West, Lakeshore East, Barrie, and Stouffville lines. These cuts are intended to support partner Alstom with crew training and certification and to accommodate ongoing infrastructure expansion.
