Railway events scheduled across Japan for October 2026

Multiple railway-themed events are scheduled to take place in Japan on October 24, 2026.

Hokuso Railway will host a special photography session at the Inba Depot. The event features the 7300 series train in its unpainted stainless steel state, which occurs briefly during the inspection process before the blue film is applied. The session includes photography opportunities, merchandise sales, and a destination sign operation experience. Participation is limited to 90 people.

Simultaneously, JR East will hold the 38th Shinkansen Rolling Stock Base Festival at the Shinkansen General Rolling Stock Center. The event offers various activities, including Shinkansen component displays, maintenance demonstrations, and special tours. Paid options include Shinkansen crew experiences and tug-of-war challenges with the E8 series Shinkansen. Tickets for the festival are scheduled to go on sale starting October 1, 2026.
