Railway festivals scheduled for Matsuyama and Omiya in late 2026

Two major railway-themed festivals are scheduled to take place in Japan during the latter half of 2026.

In Matsuyama, the ‘Matsuyama Station Waku Waku Railway Festa 2026’ will be held on October 24–25 at JR Matsuyama Station. The event commemorates the second anniversary of the station building's opening and will feature a children's dream shopping street, railway goods sales, high school student diorama exhibits, a stamp rally, and an ekiben (station lunch box) fair.

In Omiya, the ‘Railway Town Omiya Railway Fureai Fair’ is set for November 21. Organized by JR East Omiya Operations Headquarters in collaboration with Saitama City, the event will span multiple venues including the vehicle base, Omiya Station, and various city locations. Activities include test rides of the E259 series limited express, mini-shinkansen experiences, vehicle exhibitions, and workshops. Some areas of the fair will require advance registration and paid admission.
