Railway Recruitment Board announces 3,993 vacancies for Junior Engineer roles

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has opened online applications for 3,993 vacancies for the positions of Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS). The recruitment process, under Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) number 04/2026, began on August 14, 2026. Interested candidates must complete their applications by September 13, 2026, with the final deadline for fee payment set for September 15, 2026.

Eligibility requirements include a three-year diploma or a B.E./B.Tech degree in relevant engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, or Computer Engineering. Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years old as of January 1, 2027, though age relaxations apply for SC/ST (5 years) and OBC-NCL (3 years) categories. Applicants are permitted to select only one RRB zone; applying to multiple zones may result in the cancellation of all applications.

The selection process consists of Computer Based Test I (CBT-I), Computer Based Test II (CBT-II), document verification, and a medical examination. CBT-I serves as a screening test featuring 100 multiple-choice questions covering mathematics, reasoning, general awareness, and general science. A correction window for application modifications will be available from September 16 to September 25, 2026, subject to a revised fee.
