Railway Recruitment Board releases revised Group D exam schedules for 2025‑2026
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, issued a revised Computer Based Test (CBT) timetable for the Group D recruitment (CEN 09/2025) covering 22,195 vacancies. The CBT will be held in multiple phases across India starting on 3 August 2026 and continuing through 21 August 2026, with additional dates added up to 25 August 2026 for the 2025 cycle. Admit cards are slated to become available approximately four days before each exam date, the first release slated for 31 July 2026.
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for candidates who clear the CBT is scheduled from 25 July to 11 September 2026, with zone‑wise dates such as Ajmer (29 July‑1 August), Prayagraj (25‑28 July), Chennai (29‑31 July) and others pending.
The exam format consists of 100 multiple‑choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes, divided among Mathematics, General Science, Reasoning, General Awareness and Current Affairs. Each wrong answer incurs a one‑third mark penalty. Candidates are advised to focus on revision, mock tests and time‑management to cope with the limited duration and negative marking.
