Rain forecasts call for heavy showers in Chihuahua, Veracruz and Tamaulipas

Mexico's national weather services have issued rain forecasts for several states. In Chihuahua, the State Civil Protection Coordination warns of moderate to strong rain on Friday night across multiple municipalities, with isolated to scattered showers expected elsewhere over the weekend. The forecast calls for residents to exercise caution while driving and to avoid crossing riverbeds due to possible flash floods.

In Veracruz and neighboring Tamaulipas, the National Water Commission warns of higher rain potential, including strong thunderstorms in river basins such as Tonalá, Coatzacoalcos, Papaloapan, Tecolutla and Cazones. Isolated to scattered showers are expected in other mountainous areas, while low to moderate rain is predicted for the rest of Veracruz. Winds of 25‑35 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h are also forecasted across the region.
