Rainfall expected in Nepal's hills while heat builds in the Terai region

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology issued forecasts for June 7‑8 across Nepal. In the mountainous and hilly provinces of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim, clouds will bring moderate rain, thunderstorms and lightning, with occasional snowfall in higher elevations. Several locations may experience light rain or snow accompanied by thunder.

The low‑pressure system also raises temperatures in the Terai (Tarai) belt. Most of the Terai is expected to remain mainly clear, but hot weather and unexpected temperature rises are forecast for parts of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces. Authorities have urged residents in the affected regions to stay alert and follow weather advisories.
