Raipur police foil Kalyan Jewellers robbery plot, three arrested

Raipur Commissionerate Police disrupted a planned robbery at the Kalyan Jewellers showroom in Pandri, Raipur, and arrested three suspects from Delhi and Bihar. The men – Devansh Sharma (19, Delhi), Sushant Passwan (19, Delhi) and Mayank Singh (19, Muzaffarpur, Bihar) – were seized near platform 7 of the railway station with a locally‑made pistol, two live cartridges, two knives, three mobile phones and ₹2,500 in cash.

Investigators said the plot was coordinated through an Instagram group chat, with the suspects conducting reconnaissance of the shop and surrounding security, ordering a bike via parcel delivery, and planning the heist for the night of August 6‑7, 2026. Two additional accomplices remain at large and are being pursued.

The arrested individuals have been charged under Section 310(4) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. Police are also examining mobile data that linked the suspects to other jewellery outlets in Bihar.
