Rai to appoint Stefano Coletta as successor to long‑time ‘Chi l'ha visto?’ host Federica Sciarelli

After 22 years as the face of Rai 3’s investigative programme “Chi l’ha visto?”, journalist Federica Sciarelli has informed the broadcaster that she will leave the show. Her contract ends at the end of July, and Rai is evaluating a successor.

The network’s likely choice is Stefano Coletta, the current director of the Directorate for Coordination of Genres. Coletta has been involved with the programme since 2008, when he led the production unit for social‑service programmes and helped reshape the format. Rai staff view him as the candidate best positioned to preserve the show’s editorial line and its relationship with families, investigators and the public.

Other names that have been mentioned include Francesca Fagnani, Giorgia Cardinaletti, Serena Bortone and, to a lesser extent, Massimo Giletti and Pino Rinaldi, but reports say Coletta is now the frontrunner. The decision is framed as an internal, continuity‑oriented strategy rather than a high‑profile personality change, reflecting the programme’s status as a flagship of Italian public‑service journalism.
