Rajasthan Election Commission orders re-polling in Jaipur Ward 62
The Rajasthan State Election Commission has ordered re-polling for a specific booth in Ward 62 of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. The decision follows an incident during the recent voting process where 110 individuals whose names had been removed from the electoral lists were permitted to cast votes at the ‘Government Upper Primary School (Room No. 4), Tila Wala, Sanganer’ polling station.
After reviewing reports from the District Election Officer and the Returning Officer, the Commission determined that the fairness of the election process was compromised. Consequently, re-voting is scheduled for September 13, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, under Rule 55 of the Rajasthan Municipal (Election) Rules, 1994.
Authorities have been instructed to notify all candidates and their agents in writing regarding the new schedule and to ensure widespread publicity in the affected area. During the re-poll, only authorized voters will be permitted to participate. The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used during the original voting on September 11 will be sealed and kept secure, and new ballot papers may be printed if necessary.
