Rajasthan municipal election re-polling orders
Overview
The Rajasthan State Election Commission has ordered re-polling at multiple locations during the 2026 Urban Local Body Elections due to various irregularities.
Initially, re-polling was ordered for a specific booth in Jaipur Ward 62 after 110 individuals whose names had been removed from electoral lists were permitted to vote. The Commission determined that the fairness of the process was compromised at the ‘Government Upper Primary School (Room No. 4), Tila Wala, Sanganer’ station.
Subsequent orders expanded the scope of re-polling to include several other cities, including Jodhpur, Kota, and Suket. In Jaipur, additional re-polling was mandated for five booths across Wards 9, 18, 25, and 34 following technical malfunctions with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The Commission decided that the number of un-displayed votes caused by these glitches exceeded the victory margin between candidates. For these affected booths, officials are issuing new ballot papers and disregarding previous indelible ink marks.
