Rajasthan food safety teams seize adulterated sweets in Salumber and Bassi raids

Food safety authorities in Rajasthan have conducted raids across Salumber and Bassi as part of the ‘Shuddh Aahar, Milavat Par Vaar’ (Pure Food, Attack on Adulteration) campaign ahead of the festive season.

In Salumber, the food safety team inspected sweet shops in the Karavali area. At New Jodhpur Mishthan evam Namkeen Bhandar, officials seized and destroyed 40 kilograms of adulterated mava that was being used to prepare various sweets for sale. Samples of mava barfi, rasgulla, and plain mava were collected from both New Jodhpur and Jain Mishthan evam Namkeen Bhandar for laboratory testing.

In Bassi, officials targeted Sharma Mishthan Bhandar, where they discovered 125 kilograms of adulterated milk cake. The investigation revealed that the milk cake had been sourced from Alwar at a rate of ₹180 per kilogram and was being sold to customers for ₹360 per kilogram. The contaminated stock was immediately destroyed to prevent it from reaching consumers. Additionally, samples of milk cake, mava barfi, and gulab jamun were collected from Shri Ambe and Lal Ji Jodhpur Mishthan Bhandar for further analysis.
