Rajasthan launches 201 MW solar tender for government buildings under virtual net metering

The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL), a government undertaking, has issued an online tender for 201 MW of grid‑connected solar power projects to solarise government buildings under a virtual net‑metering (RESCO) model. The capacity will be spread across multiple sites in the Jaipur distribution area, with each bidder allowed to quote between 1 MW and a maximum of 50 MW. The estimated project cost is set at ₹35 million (≈ $367,000) per MW. Bidders must pay a bid document fee of ₹5,900, an e‑procurement charge of ₹2,950, an earnest‑money deposit of ₹700,000 per MW (2 % of project cost) and provide performance security of ₹1.75 million per MW (5 %).

The scope includes design, site survey, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, construction of 11 kV transmission lines, remote‑monitoring system setup and long‑term operation and maintenance for 25 years from commercial operation. Projects must be commissioned within nine months of agreement signing. Bids are accepted online until 14 July 2026, with technical bids opened on 17 July 2026. Financial eligibility requires a net‑worth of at least 20 % of the quoted capacity cost and an average turnover equal to 30 % of the total project cost over the past three years.
