Rajasthan road accidents kill five relatives in two separate incidents

In Kotputli‑Bahadri district of Rajasthan, a brother‑in‑law and sister‑in‑law died on a Saturday when their fast‑moving motorcycle struck a container placed on the National Highway‑48 flyover near Pragpura. Both were on their way to a relative’s home and were declared dead at the scene. Police have begun an investigation into why the container was positioned on the highway and whether safety signs were present.

In Dhaulpur district, another Saturday accident occurred near the Tasi mo bridge. A motorcycle became trapped between a car and a Kantra truck, resulting in the on‑site deaths of two cousins, identified as Sonu and Ravi. A 17‑year‑old passenger, Satybhan, was seriously injured and referred to a higher‑level medical centre. Local police have opened a probe into the circumstances of the collision and the involved vehicles.

Both incidents have prompted calls for stricter enforcement of speed limits and better safety measures on Rajasthan’s highways and bridges.
