Ralph Siegel discharged from hospital after coma
German composer and Eurovision Song Contest legend Ralph Siegel has been discharged from the hospital following a life-threatening health crisis. Siegel, 80, was hospitalized in early July due to severe pneumonia, which required him to be placed in a medically induced coma for approximately 18 days.
Siegel stated that he narrowly escaped death, noting that had he remained in Spain for even one more day before seeking treatment, he would not have survived. After waking from the coma and being moved from intensive care to a regular ward, he has now returned home to the care of his wife, Laura.
The recovery process remains significant, as Siegel has experienced muscle weakness and difficulty walking. He is scheduled to begin rehabilitation in the Tegernsee region to regain his mobility.
