Ralph Siegel plans musical comeback following serious illness
German composer and producer Ralph Siegel plans to attend a revival of his musical ‘Zeppelin’ on October 22 at the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein in Füssen. Despite ongoing health challenges, the 80-year-old expressed his intention to be present personally, noting that he would attend in a wheelchair if necessary.
Siegel is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Tegernsee following a period of severe illness. Earlier this year, he was hospitalized for several weeks in a medically induced coma due to pneumonia. His medical history includes battles with prostate cancer, heart issues, and polyneuropathy.
Siegel, known for composing approximately 3,000 songs including the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest winner ‘Ein bisschen Frieden’, has described the ‘Zeppelin’ musical as his ‘life's work.’ The production focuses on aviation pioneer Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and the final flight of the Hindenburg.
