On 26 September 2025, Turkish singer Gül Tut (known as “Güllü”) fell from a sixth‑floor window in her Çınarcık, Yalova apartment. The fall was about 18.17 m to a concrete floor, causing fatal head and spine fractures, internal organ damage and massive internal bleeding. Toxicology showed 3.53 ‰ alcohol in her blood but no toxic drugs or poison.

The Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office concluded the incident was not an accident. The indictment alleges that the singer’s 28‑year‑old daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, planned the killing, using the folk song “Malkata” to lure her mother into the room. A recorded voice of the daughter saying “Hadi görüşürüz” was identified, after which she allegedly grabbed her mother’s hips, cut her feet and pushed her out the window.

Prosecutors are seeking an aggravated life‑sentence (müebbet hapis) for Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter under Article 82 for “tasarlayarak üst soya karşı kasten öldürme”. The friend present, Sultan Nur Ulu, faces a separate charge of false testimony. The investigation lasted roughly eleven months before the indictment was filed.
