The Colombian Fiscalía General de la Nación has launched a new line of investigation into former Boyacá governor Ramiro Barragán Adame. The probe is part of a larger corruption case involving the Sierra Nevada Mixed Fund for Infrastructure, Integral Development, and Social Management.

Investigators are examining a suspected network that may have influenced the allocation and execution of approximately 480 contracts. These projects, funded by the General Royalty System, are valued at over 3 trillion pesos and are spread across at least 19 departments.

In addition to Barragán, the investigation includes several other former and current governors from regions including Amazonas, Magdalena, Vaupés, Guaviare, and Vichada. Separately, the Procuraduría General de la Nación has already opened a disciplinary investigation against Barragán regarding a 4.1 billion peso project in Cómbita.
